Windsurf Class Kihei

The windsurf class Kihei provides lessons for all ages and skill levels, focusing on sail handling and wind reading. The 2-hour sessions are designed to build confidence and skills progressively.

Beginner Lessons

Beginners start on large, stable longboards such as the Starboard Go and Naish Kailua, which make it easier to stay upright. Small, lightweight sails are used, including sizes suitable for children as young as six.

What to Expect

Classes begin with a land lesson covering wind terminology, stance, and launching techniques. In the water, participants learn positioning, uphauling, turning, power control, and sail steering. Lessons are scheduled in the mornings when winds are lighter for easier learning.

Progression

After mastering the basics, students may try shorter boards and larger sails in stronger winds. The program supports gradual skill development in a safe and supportive environment.
