Kona BIG 5 Ocean Safari
Depart from Honokohau Harbor on a 5-hour ocean safari exploring the Kona coast pelagic zone, created by Mauna Loa’s gradual slope to the sea floor. Search for the “Kona Big 5”: marine mammals, sharks, manta or eagle rays, turtles, and tropical reef fish. After pelagic encounters, snorkel near the coastline at manta ray cleaning stations frequented by reef turtles, then visit a “century reef” home to over 100 fish species.
Enjoy lunch while snorkeling and a scenic coastline tour on the return to the marina, passing impressive lava rock shoreline. This charter limits passenger numbers to ensure wildlife comfort and guest safety. Prior snorkeling experience is strongly recommended. Sun protection such as swim-shirts is advised.
