2 Tank Boat Dive – Hilo Horizons

Join expert local dive professionals for a two-tank boat dive exploring some of Hilo’s most remote and pristine reef sites along the Hamakua Coast of East Hawai‘i.

This adventure is designed for certified divers with 15 or more logged dives. If it has been more than two years since your last dive, a refresher course is recommended before booking.

Departing from Hilo Harbor, the boat travels north past cascading waterfalls, Mauna Kea’s slopes, and historic sugar plantation remnants. On calm days, spinner dolphins may be seen playing in the boat’s wake.

Underwater, divers will explore volcanic terrain including pinnacles, lava shelves, swim-throughs, and coral-covered canyons. The reefs are vibrant with coral, endemic Hawaiian fish, and occasional sea turtles. Winter months may offer distant views of breaching humpback whales and snow on Mauna Kea’s summit.
