Basic Keelboat Sailing Lessons (ASA 101) in Honolulu
Offered by Seas the Day Honolulu, this course is designed for new sailors to learn how to safely sail and dock a sloop-rigged keelboat approximately 20 to 27 feet in length. Classes take place in familiar waters with light to moderate winds up to 15 knots.
- Duration: 1 or 2 days, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Location: Meeting point at Kewalo Basin
- Pricing: $795 per person for shared class (up to 4 people), $950 for private class (up to 4 people), plus tax
- Includes: Logbook, registration fees, certification fees, and a 1-year ASA membership
Students will learn basic sailing terminology, safety equipment, points of sail, rules of the road, docking, helm commands, sail trim, buoyage, seamanship, and basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. Auxiliary power operation is not required.
