Carthaginian Wreck Dive: Historic Maui Scuba Adventure
The Carthaginian Wreck Dive is a renowned Maui scuba experience featuring a descent onto the Carthaginian II, a steel-hulled sailing vessel resting at about 100 feet outside Lahaina. This dive is ideal for certified divers with at least 25 logged dives.
Dive Details and Duration
Check-in occurs at 6:15 AM with return to harbor between noon and 1:00 PM. The total trip duration is approximately 6 hours. The dive profile is considered deep, and nitrox certification is recommended for enriched air use.
Second Dive and Marine Life
The second dive takes place along the scenic West Maui coastline, featuring shallower reefs rich in marine life such as frogfish and rays. Both sites offer excellent opportunities for underwater photography.
Requirements and Equipment
Divers must be certified and meet prerequisites. Rental gear is available for $30, including BCD and regulator. A medical history form is required, and some divers may need physician clearance.
