Dive Backwall Molokini – Advanced Drift Dive in Lahaina

The Molokini Backwall dive is a world-class vertical wall and drift dive located in Lahaina, Hawaii, offered by Lahaina Divers. This advanced dive features a sheer vertical wall approximately 300 feet deep, with divers leveling off at 80 feet or less. Expect to see white tip, black tip, and gray reef sharks, manta rays, dolphins, and schooling fish.

This dive is suitable only for certified divers aged 15 and older, with a minimum of 25 logged dives and at least one dive within the last six months. Divers must have good buoyancy control and air consumption, carry a dive computer and safety marker sausage, and be able to re-enter the boat with gear on. Non-diver ride-alongs are allowed at the same price but are not recommended for this drift dive.

Molokini is a partially sunken volcanic cone with pristine conditions inside the crater, including visibility over 100 feet. The first dive takes place outside the crater at the dramatic back wall, a towering 200-foot above-water cliff dropping to over 300 feet below the surface. Divers hover around 80 feet, enjoying views of the islet wall descending into the deep blue below. A second drift dive occurs at the edge of the crater.
