The 3rd Annual Ho’oma’a Wa’a Invitational is a one-day Hawaiian canoe surfing competition at Maili Point, Waianae. Teams of four compete in elimination rounds with on-water scoring.

Hosted by Ho’oma’a Foundation, this one-day invitational celebrates Hawaiian canoe surfing and ocean culture at Maili Point, Waianae. Teams of four compete in timed heats focusing on wave riding, maneuvering, style, and execution.
The event features two elimination rounds leading to semifinals for top teams. Safety and scoring are managed by Beach Marshals and a Contest Director, with jet ski assistance provided when needed.
Included for competitors are wrist bands for waiver compliance, competitor jerseys (returned after each heat), and contest t-shirts.
