Explore Maui’s Olowalu Beach by kayak while enjoying majestic views of the West Maui Mountains and the crystal-clear waters of Olowalu Reef. Located within the Hawaiian Islands National Humpback Whale Marine Sanctuary, the area is home to thousands of tropical fish, hundreds of giant green sea turtles, and serves as a winter birthing ground for North Pacific Humpback Whales.
Between December and May, an estimated 15,000 humpback whales visit the sanctuary to breed and give birth. The tour is led by certified Hawaii Marine Naturalist guides who provide expert education on whale behavior, marine science, and island history. Snorkeling gear, life jackets, fish identification cards, water, and snacks are included.
