Maunakea Summit & Stars Adventure in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Journey from sea level to Maunakea’s slopes to witness the Hawaiian night sky’s world-class clarity. Enjoy a picnic-style dinner featuring Southwest Stew or Vegetarian Chili, assorted teas, hot chocolate, and dessert.
Warm gear including hooded parkas and gloves is provided. Your guide shares historical accounts of early travelers and the awe-inspiring sunset over the Pacific.
Experience a private star show with an 11″ Celestron telescope and view deep space objects with a state-of-the-art digital telescope. Captured images can be shared with friends and family.
Meeting points include King Kamehameha Courtyard Marriott, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Kona Village, Queens’ Marketplace, Waikoloa Plaza, and Onizuka Visitors Center. The tour lasts about 7 to 8 hours.
