The open water referral course is the perfect way to complete your scuba certification by starting at home and finishing in Maui. This course allows divers to complete their academic and pool sessions locally before arriving in Kihei to complete the open water dives with Maui Dreams Dive Co Shop.

Before your arrival, you must bring your referral paperwork and medical waiver, including physician clearance if required. This ensures a smooth transition into the practical portion of your training. The course cost of $449 includes instruction and gear rental for the referral dives.

Course Schedule and What to Expect

The open water referral course spans two days. On day one, meet at Maui Dreams Dive Co Shop at 7:00 a.m. to get fitted for equipment and complete necessary paperwork. Then, head to the dive site for your first open water dives. Day two begins again at 7:00 a.m. at the dive site to finish the remaining dives and wrap up back at the shop.

Prior to arrival, divers must complete all digital course materials and pool training with their home dive shop. The referral form from your original instructor allows Maui Dreams Dive Co to pick up exactly where you left off. This approach offers flexibility and ensures you gain hands-on experience in the beautiful waters of Maui.

• Non-PADI referrals must be communicated in advance; otherwise, accommodations cannot be made.
• Ensure all paperwork is sent to the dive shop as early as possible.
• This course is designed for those who have completed the academic and pool portions elsewhere and are ready to complete open water dives in Maui.
