Open Water Referral Course Overview
The Open Water Referral in Lahaina allows divers who have completed confined water and eLearning portions elsewhere to finish their PADI Open Water certification locally. This two-day course focuses on completing the remaining open water dives and skills in the ocean.
Course Schedule and Activities
The course runs from 7:00 AM to around 12:00 PM on both days, leaving afternoons free. Participants meet their instructor for a dive safety briefing, gear up, and enter the water from the beach to complete the required dives and skills. After each dive, divers return to the surface to change tanks and log their dives.
Certification and Marine Life
Upon completion, participants receive their Open Water Certification eCard, valid worldwide for life. The dives take place on real reefs in Lahaina, often featuring turtles, eels, and endemic Hawaiian species. The course is suitable for ages 10 and up and priced from $255.
