The PADI Open Water Certification Shore course in Maui is the first part of the world’s most popular scuba diving certification. This 3 to 4-hour course introduces new divers to scuba diving through shore-based dives. Participants learn essential skills, terminology, and safety procedures under the guidance of a PADI certified Dive Instructor.
Course Structure and Learning
The course begins on the shore, where students practice and develop scuba skills in a controlled environment. The second dive allows participants to apply their knowledge by exploring various underwater environments, including sandy bottoms, reefs, and coral formations. This hands-on experience prepares divers for the second part of the certification, which involves boat dives.
