PADI Open Water Certification (Part 1) – Shore Dive in Kihei

Maui offers some of the best shore diving in Hawaii, and this PADI Open Water Diver course part one is your introduction to scuba diving adventures. The course begins on the shore with your first dive, where you’ll learn essential skills, terminology, and safety procedures from a PADI certified Dive Instructor.

Your second dive applies these skills as you explore various locations, moving from sandy bottoms through reef and coral formations while observing diverse sea life up close. This shore portion prepares you for part two of the certification, which is a boat dive completing the mandatory two-part process.

The course includes knowledge development to understand scuba principles and open water dives to practice skills. To enroll, participants must be at least 10 years old and complete a medical questionnaire; any health concerns require a physician’s release.
