Rell Sunn Menehune Championship
This annual children’s surfing competition at Makaha Beach, O‘ahu, was founded by surfing legend Rell Sunn. The event promotes sportsmanship, environmental awareness, and positive youth development.
Competitors must not hold an HSA ranking in their division. The 2-day event includes a goodie bag for contestants and participation in the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
- Location: Makaha Beach, Waianae
- Check-in prior to each heat to receive wristbands (mandatory for competition)
- Bring sunscreen, towel, water, snacks, and reusable bag or Easter basket
- Lunch provided for contestants
- Maximum of 2 divisions per competitor
