Surf Hawaii Surf School offers semi-private surf lessons with a 2-to-1 student to instructor ratio, ideal for learning safely with a friend or another traveler. If you book alone, the school will try to pair you with someone else; otherwise, you may need to take a private or group lesson.

All instructors are certified lifeguards, CPR and AED certified, and experienced surfers. Lessons are tailored to your skill level—beginner, intermediate, or advanced—and include all necessary equipment such as surfboards, leashes, and rash guards.

Your session begins with a 20-minute land training covering surf ethics, followed by in-water instruction where your instructor guides you as you paddle out and catch waves. Lessons are offered every day at 7am, 10am, 2pm, and 4pm, lasting 2 hours. The cost is $150 per person.
