Lesson Format
The session begins with 30 minutes of land-based skill training, teaching paddling, positioning, stand-ups, lineup etiquette, and ocean safety. Students also learn to read and recognize ocean conditions.
The remaining 60 minutes are spent practicing these skills on waves in Hanalei Bay. More experienced surfers can upgrade their surfboard through the sister company, Kauai Surfboard Rentals, at a discounted rate.
