The Semi-Private Surf Lesson in Hanalei provides a 90-minute surf experience for small groups. All students receive a soft top surfboard, leash, and rashguard to ensure safety and comfort during the lesson.
Lesson Format
The session starts with 30 minutes of land-based skill training covering paddling, positioning, stand-ups, lineup etiquette, and ocean safety. Students also learn how to read the ocean and recognize wave patterns.
The remaining 60 minutes are dedicated to ocean-based applied learning in Hanalei Bay. This allows students to practice their new skills on real waves with expert guidance.
Additional Notes
Mornings typically provide better surfing conditions with fewer crowds. Experienced surfers can upgrade their surfboards through the sister company, Kauai Surfboard Rentals, at a discounted rate.
