The private group surf lesson provides a personalized surfing experience in Kihei, Maui. Designed for families, couples, or friends, this lesson ensures you learn in a private setting without being grouped with strangers.
Location and Duration
Lessons take place at Ukumehame Beach, also known as “1000 Peaks,” located between Kihei and Lahaina. The session lasts approximately 1.5 hours, including a safety briefing and hands-on instruction.
Instruction and Equipment
Each group has a maximum of 4 guests per instructor. Experienced instructors provide soft top surfboards selected for your height, weight, and ability. Long sleeve rash guards are included to protect against rashes, and a digital photo package documents your progress.
Who Can Participate
People of all ages who can swim and feel comfortable in the ocean are welcome. Children under 8 require prior discussion before booking. The lesson focuses on building confidence and progressing surfing skills in a supportive environment.
What to Bring
Guests should bring a towel, water, and reef-safe sunscreen. Athletic leggings are recommended for additional protection. Instructors provide rash guards if you do not have your own.

Note that there are no restroom facilities at the meeting location, but porta-potties are available nearby at Ukumehame Beach Park.
