Basic coastal cruising lessons ASA 103 in Honolulu are designed to develop competent and safe cruising sailors. This course builds upon the skills learned in ASA 101 and prepares students to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered keelboat between 25 and 35 feet.

Course Content and Duration

The lessons run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM over one or two days depending on class size. Topics include crew communication, sail trim, anchoring, reefing, weather, safety, and basic maintenance of electrical and plumbing systems.

Prerequisite: ASA 101 certification. Tuition includes logbook, registration fees, certification fees, and a one-year ASA membership.
