Begin with a scenic 25-minute drive to He’eia Kea Boat Harbor, where parking and restrooms are available. Launch your kayak from the designated spot to the left of the parking lot for safety. The rental includes kayaks, paddles, life vests, dry bags, and a map of routes. Snorkeling at reefs along the way is recommended.

Experience highlights

While paddling southeast for about 45 minutes, you can stop to snorkel and explore the reefs. Always attach your floating rope to your kayak and wear the other end on your wrist when exiting the kayak. After enjoying the sandbar, paddle back to the boat harbor and return your gear at the Kailua adventure hub, where bathrooms and an outdoor shower are available.
